PAINT DRIER:
MANGANESE DRIERS ARE INTERMEDIATE IN ACTIVITY & THEY HAVE BOTH OXIDIZING & POLYMERIZING PROPERTIES. It can be used instead of Cobalt dryers with less drying feature. ONE DISADVANTAGE IN USE OF MANGANESE DRIERS IS THEIR RELATIVE DARK COLOR, WHICH HAS A TENDENCY TO DISCOLOR WHITE OR LIGHT FINISHES. It is recommended to be used instead of Cobalt in dark and black colored paints. Depending on the solids content, the recommended amount of use is between 0.01% and 4%. It is generally recommended to be used with Lead and Calcium. OFTEN A THREE COMPONENT DRIER SYSTEM IS USED CONSISTING OF MANGANESE, COBALT AND A THOROUGH DRIER SUCH AS LEAD.
